Felipe Ortiz Mendez, age 20, passed away unexpectedly on August 16, 2026, in Santa Rosa, California, following a tragic automobile accident. His passing has left an immeasurable emptiness in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him. Felipe was born on October 14, 2005, in San Jose, California. He grew up in the Roseland community, where he attended elementary and middle school before graduating from Elsie Allen High School. His love for cars was a special part of who he was and a passion that brought him happiness. He enjoyed working on them, and appreciated everything about them. Though Felipe's life was far too short, the memories he created and the love he shared will remain with his family forever. He leaves behind his loving parents, Elpidio Ortiz and Bernardita Mendez; his brothers, Alexis Ortiz and Jonathan Ortiz; his sister, Vanessa Ortiz; his beloved nephew, Damian Mena; and his girlfriend, Michelle Clemente. He will also be deeply missed by his extended family, friends, and classmates. A viewing will be held at 1487 West Avenue in Santa Rosa, beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. In honor of Felipe, the family kindly requests that attendees wear white rather than traditional black. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at St. Sebastian's Church 7983 Covert Lane in Sebastopol CA.
