Jesus "Chuy" Torres Martinez

Jesus "Chuy" Torres Martinez, age 72, of Windsor, passed away peacefully at his home on June 2, 2025. Chuy was born on January 14, 1953, in Jocotepec, Jalisco, Mexico, where he also graduated from high school. A proud and hardworking man, Chuy made his mark as a dedicated horticulturist. His passion for the land and community was recognized through a prestigious Leadership Award from the Sonoma County Grape Growers Foundation. Beyond his profession, Chuy was the heart of every family gathering. He was known for his barbecues, warm presence, and love for bringing people together. Chuy was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Elena and Andres Torres. He is survived by his loving wife, Lilia Valle de Torres; his children Fabian, Elva, Andrea, and Jesus; and his cherished son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, great-granddaughter, and his brothers and sisters. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 between 4-7:pm at Windsor Healdsburg Mortuary Chapel, 9660 Old Redwood Hwy in Windsor. Mass will be held Thursday, June 12, 2025 at 11:am at St. Johns Church on Matheson St. in Healdsburg. Chuy nació el 14 de Enero 1953 en Jocotepec, Jalisco, México, donde también se graduó de la preparatoria. Hombre orgulloso y trabajador, Chuy dejó su huella como horticultor dedicado. Su pasión por la tierra y la comunidad fue reconocida con un prestigioso Premio Liderazgo por La Fundación de Viticultores del Condado de Sonoma. Más allá de su profesión, Chuy era el alma de cada reunión familiar. Se le conocía por sus asados, su amable presencia y su amor por reunir a la familia. Chuy fue precedido en muerte por sus queridos padres, Elena y Andrés Torres. Le sobreviven su amada esposa, Lilia Valle de Torres; sus hijos Fabián, Elva, Andrea y Jesús; así como su yerno, nuera, nietos, bisnieta y sus hermanos y hermanas. La velación se llevará a cabo el Miércoles Junio 11 2025 entre las 4:00 y las 7:00 p.m. en la capilla de Windsor Healdsburg Mortuary, 9660 Old Redwood Hwy en Windsor. La misa se celebrará el Jueves Junio 12 2025 a las 11:00 a.m. en Iglesia de St. John's calle Matheson en Healdsburg.
