Mr. James William Magness

August 12, 1946 - December 8, 2021

James William Magness of Windsor, California died on Wednesday, December 8, 2021. He was born in Desha County, Arkansas on 8/12/1946 and resided in Sonoma County for 50 years. Jim worked in various capacities during his long career for several wineries and retired from Rodney Strong Winery in 2014. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Windsor, Sonoma County Genealogical Society and a local classic car club. He attended Spring Hills Community Church. He was known for his even temperament and good heart. In many ways, Jim was a modern renaissance man. He was very mechanically adept and enjoyed cigars, cooking, historical fiction, genealogy, and cars. He relished his Sunday morning breakfasts with friends. His family will miss his dry wit. He is survived by his brother, children, grandchildren and many nieces and nephews; and predeceased by his wife Susan Fiore Magness.
