Thomas A. Day

Thomas (Tom) Andrew Day, 78, was surrounded by family when he took his final flight on June 21, 2023, in Windsor, CA. He was born on February 28, 1945, in San Francisco, California, to the late George and Helen Day. He loved being a carpenter and knew how to build things that would last a lifetime; he generously shared his skills with many family and friends. Tom worked for many years in construction, but in his words “it wasn’t work when you love what you do”. His first stop in the morning on his way to work was coffee and donuts. We all got a good chuckle from the weekly accumulation of donut “dust” in the truck cab. Tom was eager to help and encouraged anyone who needed it. He was quick to pass on his love of flying and carpentry to those who were willing to learn. But when he wasn't busy hammering and sawing, he had his head in the clouds, flying high with his friends and family. Tom's passion for flying was truly extraordinary! He had a true love for the skies and embraced the freedom of soaring up in the air. To say he” Loved * Loved * Loved” to fly would be an understatement. He will always be remembered for his love of the friendly skies and turning his head to the sky to identify the sound of an aircraft flying by. Tom, and his wife Christina, often included family and friends on the many flying adventures and visited many wonderful places, shared many cold beverages, sights, laughs and made memories. Tom was a kind and thoughtful man, a true gentleman, who touched so many lives with his gentle nature. He had an amazing circle of family and friends who meant the world to him. Tom will be dearly missed. The memory of Tom will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him. Tom is survived by his loving wife Christina, his sons, John Day (Catherine) of Wilsonville, OR; David Day (Shannon) of Nampa, ID, and daughter Lorraine Day of San Francisco. He is also survived by his stepson Justin Mousseau of Prince George, BC, Canada, and stepdaughter Alanna Nielsen of Grand Prairie, AB, Canada. . Tom is also survived by his Sisters; Carol Paine and Janice Lacey and by his 11 loving grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life. Tom was taken from us too soon, but we know he's up there now, looking down on us all with a smile on his face. Fly high, Tom, and enjoy your next adventure! May heavens wings lift you into eternal flight. At Tom’s request there will be no services. In his memory, his family requests donations to the American or Canadian Cancer Society Much Loved and forever missed.
